Greetings ISM Willamette Valley Members,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of our affiliate. It is, after all, you the members who make us who we are.

Today I wanted to address some matters related to our affiliate business processes. First and foremost, the board has accepted the fact that our membership demographics and diversity have changed over the years. Our greatest challenge has been delivering quality programs at the monthly professional development programs each month. So what have we done about it? At this point, the board has agreed to reduce the number of overall program offerings each year. We are hoping to offer three quality programs and perhaps a tour each year. By reducing the overall amount of time we spend working to coordinate these programs, we believe you will see a positive result! Stay tuned to our website for updates as we work to secure a great program for March that should prove our point above to be true.

We have also modified the meeting start finish times. Meetings/tours will now begin at 5:30 (meet & greet), dinner at 6:00pm with the program starting @ 6:30pm and ending 7:30’ish.

In addition I wanted to talk about membership dues. We have reduced the cost of the all-inclusive package so it reflects the reduced volume of meetings. That cost will now be $278 and is a convenient way to make a single payment that covers dues and attendance at each of the Pro-D meetings including the tour. If you haven’t renewed yet, please do, if you have – Thank You!

On behalf of the board of directors I wanted to put out a call for creative ideas for topics that resonate with you and/or your company. We are working hard to line something up that delivers that! However, I want YOUR IDEA’s as well. Please contact me ( or 541 346-4299) to share your thoughts on how we can better serve YOU going forward. The Board does listen and discusses everything we hear in terms of feedback from the membership. We want our members to be involved and we want this to be a successful partnership that fosters opportunities for professional development, networking and educational growth for all.

Feel free to contact me or any of the board members any time if you’d like to chat about affiliate matters or if you have some great ideas you’d like to share! I look forward to seeing you all in March, but in the meantime, enjoy the rest of this (so far) mild winter!
